Ylang Ylang is flowering plant native to Indonesia and its name means 'rare'. The essential oil from the flower has medicinal qualities and is widely used in aromatherapy. The villa could not be more aptly named. Located on a sparsely used black sand beach about 40 minutes from the hustle and bustle of shops and restaurants Ylang Ylang is a serene and spectacular villa that will calmly cradle you from the moment you set foot inside the gate. |

When I first entered the main house I immediately forget a world existed outside. I was drawn in as if an invisible force was gently pulling me. The upstairs sitting area is designed so that the incredible life enhancing views can be inhaled to the max...even during siesta. Lying on the day bed with views out to sea is so incredibly relaxing. In the courtyard lies the pool strecthing towards the manicured sculpture garden. On either side of this pool are 3 bedrooms (6 in total) - all air con and ensuite. The lawn, at the end of the pool, eventually blends with the incredible black sand - an incredible sight if you have never seen it - and then there is an interrupted view to the horizon over the ocean. |

Adjacent to the upstairs sitting area is a dedicated yoga platform with views out to sea and medication and yoga classes can be arranged. Massages can also be enjoyed here or in your room. |

Whilst this is certainly a large house in terms of the number of bedrooms it does not swamp smaller parties. In any case the essential oil from the ylang ylang flower is not only used in aromatherapy, it is also considered an aphrodisiac so you may want to leave the kids behind. |
